Last day...and other stuff

Willow has finished 1st Grade. I can't believe how fast this past year went by. Willow had a wonderful year. She is doing very well in school, and loves it. Sometimes i ask her to stay home with me, but she won't...she wants to go to school:) I love this girl!!!

Last day of school

Willow and Elwyn on her first day of 1st Grade. Time sure flies:(
And on a side note...did i mention that this child:

threw up all over me in Sam's Club. We walked in the store, and then walked right back out because she had puked down the back of my shirt, front of my shirt and in my hair!!! Too bad i really needed the things in Sam's. I had to sit in the car with her while Rich picked up everything for me. What a nightmare. I took her to the dr after 6 days of being sick and she had a double ear infection, sinus infection and possible pneumonia (i know, i know...i am a great mom:)!!! Don't worry, we are all fine now:)

Elwyn's first talk

So about a month ago, this little girl gave her first talk in primary....

I was a little bit concerned about everyone being able to understand her...i was also concerned about her being able to memorize it. Well she proved me wrong and memorized her talk in a couple of days and did a wonderful job. There were parts that were not 'understood', but it is okay, she was awesome.

When this child...

gave her first talk it brought tears to my eyes. She was SO excited to give a talk..infact she wanted to get up there so bad, that the presidency gave her a talk months before the rest of her class had a chance to do something. She memorized her talk within minutes, and could speak so clearly at that age, that i wasn't worried about a thing. (Elwyn does not speak as clearly as Willow did). Anywho, she wanted to take her paper up with her, so everyone thought she was reading at a very early age.
Anywho...i am proud of both my girls:) Like i've said before, i am a closet pageant mom, so i love when my kids 'perform'...even if it is just a talk in church:)

Again?!?!?!

Just a question...would you ever imagine that i would have so many problems with this child...

What about this one....?

Or this one....

Potentially this one....

Well my friends...they are all the same child, and yes i have had many problems with her. She likes to run this house, and to her...No means YES!!!
Sunday while i was on the phone...and the dad should have been watching her, she decided to cut her hair....(let me just put a side note in here that this is the THIRD time that we have had such an incident. The first TWO times...it was her dear older sister Willow who did the cutting for her, now she has taken the scissors into her own hands. I might just have a nervous breakdown!!!!).

I guess my idea for her to have long hair isn't going to happen:(

1 Room down...many more to go:)

So when we bought our home, nearly 2 years ago i knew i would eventually be painting every room in the house. I also knew i would be doing alot of updates...which i figured would be easy enough with us living there. Not so much. I wish we would have just done most of our BIG updates before we moved in...well we didn't, and they still have yet to be done:( I have been painting though, and slowy getting rooms done. I am the dumb one that doesn't take 'before shots', so i will try to help you imagine:)

This is our half bath...that is FINALLY finished. I can move on and forget about it. Okay when we bought the home ALL the fixtures were GOLD...meaning gold faucets, gold towel hanger, gold toilet paper roll, gold light fixture, etc....it is ridiculous!!! In this bathroom the cabinets were a light oak and the walls were a medium sage green. The room was very dark...and i didn't realize how dark it was until i painted it this pretty blue. I painted the cabinets white and added the hardware. I love this room now:)

Another shot of the bathroom

The cabinets:)
The only other rooms in our house that i 'feel' are done, are the girls' room and the laundry room. I have actually repainted the whole first floor once already, but i have decided i don't like the color anymore...in fact, I HATE IT!!! So i have many more plans to do hard labor in the future (no, not the birthing kind). I love completing a project, especially when it turns out how i wanted it:)
